Urban Heat Island High Water-Vapor Feedback Estimates and Heatwave Issues: A Temperature Difference Approach to Feedback Assessments

چکیده
The goal of this paper is to provide an initial assessment water-vapor feedback (WVF) in humid urban heat island (UHI) environments based on temperature difference data. To achieve this, a novel WVF model was developed that can analyze global and UHI local Specifically, the applied comparative literature study similar cities located versus dry climates. found daytime ?T observed be 3.3 K higher compared climates when averaged over thirty-nine cities. Since direct measurement areas could prove challenging due variations lapse rates from tall buildings, modeling provides opportunity make preliminary where measurements may difficult. Thus, results first available assessment. find values for wet-biased 3.1 Wm?2K?1, 3.4 4 Wm?2K?1 5 °C, 15 30 °C average temperatures, respectively. also used reproduce values. This capability helps validate its findings. Heatwave assessments are discussed, as they strongly affected by support observation regions amplify than UHIs regions, exacerbating heatwave problems. Furthermore, recent studies have urbanization contributions warming more previously anticipated. Therefore, likely larger contributors such trends environments. These show concern strong issue environments, with possibly factor two average. indicates albedo management would effective way reduce resulting increase.

Stratospheric water vapor feedback.
We show here that stratospheric water vapor variations play an important role in the evolution of our climate. This comes from analysis of observations showing that stratospheric water vapor increases with tropospheric temperature, implying the existence of a stratospheric water vapor feedback. We estimate the strength of this feedback in a chemistry-climate model to be +0.3 W/(m(2)⋅K), which w...

abstract this study investigates the teachers’ correction of students’ spoken errors of linguistic forms in efl classes, aiming at (a) examining the relationship between the learners’ proficiency level and the provision of corrective feedback types, (b) exploring the extent to which teachers’ use of different corrective feedback types is related to the immediate types of context in which err...
Observed and Simulated Upper-Tropospheric Water Vapor Feedback
Satellite measurements from the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) in the upper troposphere over 4.5 yr are used to assess the covariation of upper-tropospheric humidity and temperature with surface temperatures, which can be used to constrain the upper-tropospheric moistening due to the water vapor feedback. Results are compared to simulations from a general circulation model, the NCAR Commun...
متن کاملWater - vapor climate feedback inferred from climate fluctuations , 2003 – 2008
][1] Between 2003 and 2008, the global-average surface temperature of the Earth varied by 0.6 C. We analyze here the response of tropospheric water vapor to these variations. Height-resolved measurements of specific humidity (q) and relative humidity (RH) are obtained from NASA’s satelliteborne Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS). Over most of the troposphere, q increased with increasing global...
